raw nuggets get!

my cassette "collection" isn't all that great. the only real tape i have is nirvana's mtv unplugged. other than that, i have pirated copies of weezer blue album and a greatest hits tape of the band jellyfish that my mom made, and... the most interesting music-related thing i own. in fact, i may be the only person who owns the complete discography of the band degradation. who are they? some college band made of people my mom was friends with in 1995. they released, as far as i know, two demo tapes. "do you feel lucky, punk" in 1995, and "the unusual suspects" in 1997. i haven't actually listened to either yet, i've been way busy. i did look at the inserts, though. the first tape is just the cover, tracklist, and band members, but the second one has full-on liner notes and a photo of the band. their bass player quit after the second demo, i think he was the little brother of their rhythm guitarist so that's a little weird. anyway, as far as i know, that was the end of degradation. the second demo is labeled "#4" in their imaginary record label (chix & money records, lmao), so they either released 2 more tapes i don't know about, or made at least 4 copies of their second demo. i'll record them and upload them to youtube when i get home and probably add a link here. prediction: it'll sound like "east coast grunge," which isn't a thing but i feel like that'll best describe it probably. the drummer of degradation is a middle school janitor now.
next blog post is gonna be number 20, epic!
