indie rock road trip
sorry i haven't updated this website in so long, lol. i keep up when i can. anyway, tour announcement a few days ago. they're going with modest mouse and future islands along with a couple others. unfortunately modest mouse is only on the west coast so i dont get to see them as well :( but whatever, it's still weezer either way(zer). yknow, there really isn't much of a point in making these news entries if it's easily accessible information. i may be making this site in the style of the late 90s/early 2000s, when this kind of stuff was necessary, but it really isn't anymore. you can just follow their twitter or join the mailing list or something. maybe the only things i've written about here that actually made sense to write about were the SZNZ box set concepts and the setlist voting. I am going to cut off the self-doubt right here, yes I am.

weezer at festivals
weezer announced they would be at a ton of festivals yesterday! all of them are linked on weezer.com, but here's a list if you're too lazy to check there. they'll be at the innings festival in tempe, arizona on the 25th this month, the innings festival in tampa, florida on march 18, the railbird music festival in lexington, kentucky on june 3rd, the wonderroad festival in indianapolis, indiana on june 17th and 18th, and the sea.hear.now festival right here in asbury park on september 17th. the tickets are super expensive so i may or may not be going to that one, we'll see when they finally officially announce that summer tour (which better be soon). weezer will also be at the fuji rock festival in japan on july 28th, 29th, and 30th, but none of you care about that one, so. yeah. hope you have $200 saved up for GA tickets!!

SZNZ vinyl release & box set news
vinyls for every SZNZ ep are out now! pre-orders are being shipped, and you can buy them from the website or at your local record store (probably). they are apparently 45rpm, but i haven't bought any of them yet since my record player is broken (right after i got OK Human on vinyl ;-;), so i can't confirm. anyway, i hope this means that a SZNZ box set is coming out soon!
UPDATE: a sznz box set was confirmed by rivers on discord! he posted a few concepts of it. they sound really cool, but i'd rather it have the cds or the vinyls than flexi discs. i accidentally overwrote this part when i was looking back over previous entries here so the link i had is gone, but whatever, you can find it on r/weezer yourself.

summer tour setlist voting
rivers is having the fans influence the setlist for a tour this summer! the tour hasn't been officially announced just yet so there aren't any dates, but he's been talking about it in his discord. someone in the server has posted a google form on reddit (which i will link when i get out of school lol) that lets you rank every weezer song based on how much you want to hear it live. depending on how many people turn up, rivers might seriously consider the results, so you'd better get voting! i recommend voting 0 on literally every single, since we've all heard them live a thousand times and we all know buddy holly and the sweater song are getting in anyway. also, blue has been heavily favored in recent setlists, so vote low on those as well. except holiday because holiday is baller. other than that, just vote 10 on your favorite deep cuts! there's also a spreadsheet that lets you view the average results for each song in real time, but the best strategy is really just to click 10 on all the deep cuts, since anything that makes it in beyond the singles and blue/pink stuff is good. i know it'll never happen, but i need to see Brave New World live!!!
UPDATE: here's the link to the google form and spreadsheet! apparently singles aren't going to be counted, so just vote up your favorite deep cuts!

even more weezle & I Want A Dog lyrics video
there was no weezle for a while after the IWAD clip, so i was expecting the same for IP. turns out that's not the case, though! thank god for r/weezer, since nobody has been saving these on the wayback machine. the past three clips have been of the songs Deep and Dreamless Sleep, Basketball, and Dark Enough To See The Stars. DaDS is undoubtedly the closer, it sounds like a more instrumentally intense version of Only in Dreams. Basketball sounds just like it's from The Blue Album, but with a more modern touch to it, and if DEtStS isn't a slightly-darker throwback to My Name Is Jonas, i don't know what is! it's looking like SZNZ: Winter is shaping up to be one of the all-time greatest Weezer projects, and it's not even a full album! also, i completely missed the IWAD lyrics video when it came out. it was released the same day as the single, but i didn't see it until now. i thought the zoom-out of the cover art for Winter was a pretty cool idea, i wonder how big the original image must've been. the lyrics weren't accurate to what Rivers posted on twitter way back on december 5th, but i still hear those. i think they make more sense, so i don't care what the video says anyway. i don't care 'bout that!

another new SZNZ: Winter weezle clip
rivers has restocked weezle once again with a new word and clip from SZNZ: Winter! today's word was notes, and the song was Iambic Pentameter. more fabulous Blue Album-like guitar sound like on I Want A Dog, and the vocals totally reminded me of The White Album! i have a feeling winter's gonna be the best of all four SZNZ! can't wait for december 21st!

the I Want A Dog single came out today. almost missed posting this on time since i couldn't listen to it until now but Oh Goodness Gracious. this song is SO GOD DAMN GOOD DUDE. AT THE BEGINNING ITS SLOW AND SOUNDS LIKE OK HUMAN AND THE END OF PINKERTON LIKE WE ALL SAID EXCEPT THEN IT KICKS IN AND IT'S GUITARS LIKE BLUE ALBUM AND THE COMPOSITION IS SO GOOD AND THE PROGRESSION IS SUPER SATISFYING AND OH MY GOD. RESISTING THE URGE TO DO A DISNEYGAY KEYSMASH RN. ACTUALLY SCREW IT AJDSGFJDSGFJDSAFLJSAGFASJDFDSFG THIS SONG IS SO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD WEEZER NUMBAH ONE BABYYYYYYYYYYYYY

I Want A Dog lyrics released
rivers posted the full lyrics to I Want A Dog on twitter today! he posted two, one of which being ai-generated, and you had to guess which was real. it was pretty easy, since the one that sounded actually interesting was the real one. based off the weezle clip and these lyrics, SZNZ: Winter is gonna be unfathomably good!! i'll post the lyrics here later, but you can find them on his twitter in the meantime!

rivers restocked weezle with a word from SZNZ: Winter today! the was place, and the song was I Want A Dog. from the clip, it's giving me mega OK Human and mellow Pinkerton vibes. i'm even more hyped for winter now. december 21st can't get here any sooner!!

What Happens After You? music video released
a music video for What Happens After You? was released on the weezer youtube channel today. it's the first real SZNZ music video, the lyrics videos don't really count in my opinion. i think it's a really cool video, but i wish everyone was in it. why is it only rivers?
also dont tell anyone but im writing this two days late rofl. still watched it when it came out though
