i've been using the iphone 5s running iOS 9.0.2 as my daily phone for about two and a half weeks now. shockingly, it's not even that bad. it makes me feel like a wizard when i figure out how to do things. like twitter, for example. when you try to use an old version of the app, it normally forces you to update before you can log in. however, if you use an Even Older version, you can still log in, it just won't load any tweets. the solution:
- install the last version of twitter for your iOS version
- open filza (install it from cydia if you haven't) and find the twitter app folder
- open "iTunesMetadata.plist" and find where it says "ExternalVersionIdentifier"
- write down the number it says there
- install AppAdmin from cydia (it's in one of the default repos)
- go to twitter in the app store
- downgrade twitter to 722312961
-note- to downgrade, long press the download icon and click downgrade, then the plus in the top right corner, and type in the number
- open twitter and log in like normal, then force close the app
- go back to the app store and downgrade twitter back to the version you wrote down earlier
and boom there you go. now any version of twitter will work. i'm pretty sure the Even Older version of twitter is 32-bit, since it's the last for iOS 6, so it should work for any iOS version from 7-10. this will also work for some other apps like reddit where logging in is just broken on some versions but not others. your mileage may vary in that case, but the same general idea works. downgrade to old version, log in, "down"grade back to newer version where you can't log in, and you'll stay logged in. easy peasy lemon squeezy. have fun. i'll write more later i'm outta time augh
